Andrea Mitchell was on the Plane

It is now pretty widely known that Hillary lied about the dangers of her trip to Bosnia. It is getting a little bit of play in the media, but not a lot. Not nearly as much as it would have if Obama had lied like this. So we have to ask ourselves why. My (not very original theory) below.
We should be ashamed of ourselves
Sat Mar 15, 2008 at 02:21:28 PM PDT
There have been hundreds of comments like the following from supporters of Senator Obama.
Obama's pastor made comments that are inexcusable, but he is also a respected figure who has done a lot of good for his community.
Comments that seemingly support Obama, and even in some ways support Reverend Wright, but at the same time seek to distance themselves from the hard truth of Reverend Wright's words.
Reverend Wright's remarks were not only excusable, they were true. And I blame every one of the people who say they are inexcusable, who called for Obama to denounce him for the damage this has done to Obama.
We all should have jumped to Obama's defense and to Rev Wright's defense. Instead people ran from him like he was some sort of pariah.
Obama's Economic Policies for the "forgotten" class
Tue Jan 15, 2008 at 01:27:33 PM PDT
Senator Obama released his economic policy on Sunday and it was overlooked in the madness of the past week. His economic policy has provisions I feel are very important to the working, or "forgotten" class. I am talking about those people who work hard and either are barely getting by, or not getting by at all. These are the people I know, the people I grew up with and frankly, where my own family is right now.
Below I have listed a few of his ideas and how and why I feel they are important to us and why I feel Obama really "sees" us and understands our world.
When John F. Kennedy ran for president
Sun Jan 13, 2008 at 11:42:24 AM PDT
When John F. Kennedy ran for president there was still some fear of a Catholic President. Especially an Irish Catholic president. Back then, people were more open with their prejudices and said stuff about Irish Catholics out loud. But suppose the same prejudice and stereotypes existed today and it was Kennedy and Johnson running against each other again. Check out the rest:
What is the big problem with the word "hope"?
Sun Jan 06, 2008 at 03:01:01 PM PDT
I just don’t get this. What is everybody’s problem with the word HOPE? Why is having hope a bad thing? All I can think is that this view of hope being spouted here is from a bitter and/or White perspective. Maybe hope is a very different thing for angry white folks than it is for angry people of color. Obama is speaking of hope as a Black man. He is speaking of hope in the way Martin Luther King Jr. so often spoke of hope. He is speaking of it as an agent of change. Not a wishful little fantasy. He is speaking of it in the same way some of the great leaders of this country and world have thought of it. Maybe you people who speak so negatively of hope have never really had to hope. Or for some other reason don’t know what real hope is. More below...
Kill the Indian, Save the man
Tue Nov 20, 2007 at 03:22:08 PM PDT
With posting of several beautiful diaries asking for support of Pretty Bird Woman House, I think some may wonder why things are as difficult on the Reservations and within the Native American community at large. There are several reasons, but the one I am going to focus on in this diary is Indian boarding schools. The title of my diary, "Kill the Indian, save the man" was actually government policy from the 1890’s through the 1930’s and beyond in many cases.

Aquadots Aqua Dots Toy recall
Wed Nov 07, 2007 at 09:12:48 PM PDT
I'll make this short and sweet. In previous diaries it was mentioned that a toy sold in Australia called Bindeez was recalled. This toy is the same as Aquadots in the U.S. which has just been recalled.
