Once in a while you run across something so stupid, so venal, so outrageous that your blood heats up and your mouth goes dry. That just happened to me.

Everybody here is familiar with carbon offsets, the effort to try to be at least carbon-neutral in one's daily life by financing beneficial projects, mostly tree planting, to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Does some good and certainly can do no harm, right??
